    My Opinion :

I like this! I actually want to stop watching on earlier episodes as I found none of the casts are attractive or suitable for their characters, but then after a while, as the story goes, I can't stop watching. Since none of the casts are the reason I keep watching (hehehe) then it must have been the story itself that made me attached and also the chemistry between the main characters as I always like the romance part in sageuk drama (if not in all of dramas or movies, lol) :-D So, if you are just start watching and want to stop watching, just endure it a little bit more until episode 40-ish when the story will become better (at least it was for me) and then maybe it'll become one of your favorite drama, as it is for me.

His father, King Yuri, feared that this prophecy would come to pass, but couldn't bring himself to kill his own son. He ordered his elder son, Haemyung, to take baby Muhyul with him outside the palace to live as a commoner.
In 36 episodes, the drama focused on Muhyul and his nefarious fate. In an attempt to kill King Daeso of Buyeo, Haemyung, Muhyul and their gang fail, leading to Haemyung's suicide. Upon hearing this, the traumatized Muhyul (who thinks that Yuri is behind Haemyung's death) seeks revenge. So he joins forces with The Black Shadows secret army of Buyeo, where he meets Dojin, an assassin in that army who was once a prince of Buyeo. He also meets Yeon, a Buyeo Princess who is physician. Dojin, who has been raised with Yeon since they were children, noticed the growing feelings between Muhyul and Yeon, so he holds a grudge against Muhyul.

    My Opinion :

Don't expect the story to follow the history of the real Empress Ki of Yuan, although some characters may slightly resemble the actual characters in history but the drama itself is fictional. Instead of trying to compare it to the history, it'll be better to watch it as another fictional drama and enjoy its own story. It's not only another love triangle between a woman and 2 men, but how each characters dealt with their own life changing events. As for my personal reason, I endure watching the whole 51 episodes because of the cute silly emperor ^_^ though most of the casts are suitable for their roles.

Although the story is based on the Korean folk tale Prince Hodong and the Princess of Nakrang, the drama series gives a new twist with adding the main character Princess Ja-Myung (Jung Ryeo Won) as the younger sister of Princess Nakrang (Park Min Young). Both Princesses love Prince Hodong (Jung Kyung Ho) of the opposite country Goguryeo in their own ways.

    My opinion :

I like this drama, and this drama actually responsible for making me fond of Lee Min-hoo ^_^ He plays Choi Young perfectly and I think his chemistry with Kim Hee-sun is also good, they are actually one of my favorite couples, they complete each other. Unlike other similar drama, there is no love triangle here, the story is more about making priority about the one he loves and his king.
